Is the Due Date Calculator Accurate?

The vast majority of pregnancies last between 37 and 42 weeks. When you visit your GP during your 1st Month of Pregnancy he or she will tell you your Estimated Due Date (EDD) which they work out from the date of your last menstrual period – very much like we do here with our Due Date Calculator.

It is not 100% accurate – they never can be however it will give you a good idea of when your baby is due. When you visit your midwife for your dating scan at around 3 Months Pregnant they will give you a more accurate due date based on your babies measurements – but remember – it’s only about 5% of babies that arrive on their due date!
