The Company

Baby’s First Calendar Ltd was founded July 2009 after Danny Maddocks had an idea for a new baby product.

Baby’s First Calendar was officially launched at The Baby Show, Earls Court, London in October 2009 to a fantastic response from the public. We sold over 120 Baby’s First Calendars to expectant parents who couldn’t wait to record all their baby’s first milestones in one place – quickly and easily.

Charity

Baby’s First Calendar Ltd are a Corporate Sponsor to the leading Cot Death Charity FSID (Foundation for the Study Of Infant Deaths). We donate 10 pence from every sale to FSID to help fund ground breaking research with the hope that one day Cot Death will be a thing of the past.

Responsibility

When and wherever possible we use recycled material in our daily business activities. The packaging for Baby’s First Calendar is made from a minimum of 70% recycled material and we use environmentally friendly inks on all our printed products – including Baby’s First Calendar.

The Founder – Danny Maddocks

I was given 3 (yes three!) Baby Record Books when our son was born in 2008. I started completing one of them from the day he was born with the best intentions of completing it fully. Like so many new parents who start to complete a Baby Record Book it was left in a drawer after a short while never to be seen again.

I wanted to record my sons milestones but I wanted it to be quick and easy – not long and difficult. So during his naps (I was a full time stay at home Dad – Dadpreneur maybe?) I set about developing a funky, useful, quick and easy way for new parents to record their baby’s first year. The addition of a room thermometer, safe sleeping advice and space to attach baby’s birth details and photo’s made the product complete – now hundreds of new parents are using Baby’s First Calendar to quickly and easily capture their baby’s first year.

Random Facts About Danny

left school at 16. Worked in Italy for a year at 17. Launched a successful recruitment agency at 20. Worked in Ayia Napa, Cyprus as an MC for 3 years. Had a poem published at 13 entitled “Love”. Scared of spiders. HATES Slugs. Once (ok more than once!) cried whilst watching Eastenders. Loves seafood. Hates nuts. Motorbike enthusiast – past full test 2007. Cant fully straighten right arm after a motorbike accident. Can only wink with left eye – apparently most people can wink both eyes independently. Won a Small Business Sunday / #sbs award from Dragons Den Star Theo Paphitis. Roller Booted 120 miles from Bristol to London to raise money for FSID during Save a Baby Month 2010.
